C. Richard Hall, FAIA, ACHA, EDAC, LEED GA, M.Arch.'75, has been elevated to the fellowship in the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He will receive his medal of fellowship on June 11, 2010, at the Investiture of Fellows Ceremony during the 2010 National AIA Convention and Design Expo in Miami. Advancement to fellowship is the highest honor bestowed on a member of the AIA. Out of the almost 81,000 AIA members, fewer than 2,600 have been distinguished with the honor of fellowship.

A principal and director of healthcare design services at Harley Ellis Devereaux Richard founded and developed a national healthcare studio that now serves 95 practitioners representing all disciplines dedicated to heal care. He has served as adjunct faculty at Lawrence Technological University's School of Architecture for more than 30 years and as a guest critic at Taubman College regarding healthcare facilities design. Currently, he is directing the healthcare studio's support of two new master of architecture programs specializing in healthcare design at the University of Detroit Mercy and the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Also being elevated to fellowship this year are Michigan alumni Jim Bershof, B.S.'72, AB'73, M.Arch'73, of Oz Architecture in Denver, Colorado, Russell Perry, M.Arch '77, FAIA, LEED AP, and managing director of SmithGroup's Washington, D.C. office, and Mike Corby, B.S.'82, M.Arch.'84, of Integrated Architecture in Grand Rapids.
